During his meeting with President Biden, Erdogan declared that Turkey and the United States are embarking on a new phase in their relationship.
“I believe it is time for consultations at the level of heads of state within the framework of a strategic mechanism. Today, I see this meeting on the sidelines of NATO as the first step towards that,” stated Erdogan.
“Our previous meetings were like warm-ups, and now we are initiating a new process,” added the President of Turkey.
Erdogan also wished Biden success in the upcoming presidential elections and reminded that his own new five-year term has just begun.
