A trilateral meeting took place in Brussels between the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, discussions were held on issues related to the deepening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan, border delimitation and security arrangements between the two countries, unlocking regional transportation and economic infrastructures, normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, addressing the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as prisoners, missing persons, and other humanitarian issues.
“We discussed all the agenda items: sovereignty and territorial integrity. The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan once again reaffirmed their respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the other country. Based on this, Armenia’s territory amounts to 29.8 thousand square kilometers, and Azerbaijan’s territory is 86.6 thousand square kilometers. Azerbaijan expressed readiness to provide humanitarian assistance to Artsakh through Agdam,” said a statement by Charles Michel, the President of the European Council.
An agreement was reached to intensify efforts in resolving the discussed issues.
