Armen Grigoryan, the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, held a meeting with Catherine H. Hafner, the Deputy Secretary of Energy for Nuclear Energy of the United States. During the meeting, they discussed mutually beneficial areas of interest and explored potential avenues for cooperation, as stated by Grigoryan on his Facebook page.
It was previously reported that as part of Armenia’s new nuclear power plant construction program until 2036, the country is studying the experience of various countries, including the United States, in modular nuclear power plants. Proposals from Russia, South Korea, and France are also under consideration.
Regarding security cooperation, intensive discussions have already commenced between Armenia and the United States. Armenia is prepared to move forward in this regard and looks forward to further strengthening and expanding this cooperation. Grigoryan expressed his expectation to discuss these matters during his visit to Washington in the coming days.
